Sold 1991 to C. W. Elphicke, Chicago IL

Sunk Sept 26, 1894 in collision with schooner Ironton 15 miles off Presque Isle MI, Lake Huron.  Downbound from Duluth MN to Ogdensburg NY with cargo of flour and feed.  Ironton towed with schooner Moonlight by str. Charles J. Kershaw.  Ohio sank in 30 minutes.  Crew took to lifeboats, rescued by Ironton, which sank an hour later with loss of 5 lives.  Survivors rescued by Moonlight.  Enrollment surrendered Oct 1, 1894.
