Burned April 27, 1898 off Whitefish Point, Lake Superior.  Downbound with cargo of corn from Duluth MN towing schooner Frank D. Ewen.  Disabled str. Argonaut found and added to the tow.  Fire discovered aboard ship off Whitefish Point.  Crew and both tows picked up by str. Alberta.  Vessel burned and sank.  Enrollment surrendered June 14, 1898.
