Built at Port Glasgow Scotland by Lithgows Ltd., Hull 1177
Laid down as Bulknes.  Launched Sept 2, 1970 as Brooknes for ocean service.  Sold 1975 to owners below.  Lengthened at North Shields England by Swan Hunter Ship Repairers Ltd.  Renamed Algosea and entered the Great Lakes in April 1976, where she was converted to a self-unloader at Port Colborne ON by Herb Fraser & Associates

1 deck, arch cargo hold construction, hatches @ 24’, oil-fired diesel engines, 8800 BHP

Entered Great Lakes service Nov 20, 1976

Refit for ocean service and reengined at St. John NB by St. John Shipbuilding and Drydock Ltd.

Chartered 1982 by SOQUEM (Societe Quebecoise d’Exploration Miniere) to carry salt from the Magdalen Islands, Gulf of St. Lawrence to the Great Lakes and renamed Sauniere.

Laid up March 1, 2009 at Montreal QC and did not operate again

Sold for scrap 2011 to Turkish shipbreakers.  Cleared Montreal QC June 3, 2011 towed by Panamanian tug Panormitis.  Tow arrived Aliaga Turkey July 2, 2011.
