  1. I served on her after high school the summer of 1964. It was a very interesting summer for an 18 yr old. Harold Beagle was Captain I believe. I was a deckhand. We laid up in Toledo.

  2. I have a ring-buoy from the Horace Johnson. I’d like to sell it. I inherited it from Rose Kaner; her family operated a “bum boat” from the 50s into the 80s.

  3. My grandfather, F.J. Wade, who was a Captain of the Steamer Horace Johnson, was presented an eight-day ships clock for his years of service as Captain in 1940. I have been trying to fine any information about his time on the ship but have come up empty.
Can you possibly help me in this endeavor?

    • What specifically are you looking for? He was captain of JOHNSON in 1940 and 1941, but had a long career as a captain prior to that for US Steel.
