  2. Why did Kinsman Marine Transit wait from December 10, 1978 to 1986 before renaming their vessel to another name? Did US Steel Charter the S/S William A. McGonagle from Kinsman for that amount of time? Or Did US Steel tell Kinsman not to rename the vessel for personal reason?

    • I do not know the answer to your question, but I do know my dad worked on this vessel during that time and I never heard him mention anything but that he worked for Kinsman Marine. I heard nothing of U.S. Steel. I don’t know if that helps.
