Sunk July 13, 1889 in collision with str. James Pickands off Grand Island, Lake Superior.  Enroute from Marquette MI to Cleveland OH with 1483 tons of iron ore;  sideswiped by Pickands in fog.  Crew and passengers rescued by str. M. M. Drake.  Enrollment surrendered Dec 21, 1889.
