The engine was built in 1941 and installed in str. Alcoa Prospector (US 240392), which was sunk by the Japanese in World War II.  The engine was later salvaged and installed in this new vessel.

Retired and laid up at Buffalo NY Dec 16, 2002 and did not operate again for this fleet.

Sold 2005 to McKeil Work Boats Ltd., Hamilton ON and towed to Hamilton
Repowered with diesel engine

Sold 2005 to Voyageur Marine Transport Ltd., Ridgeville ON and renamed Voyageur Independent.
