1 deck, arch cargo hold construction, hatches @ 24’, oil-fired diesel engines, 7200 BHP

Entered service Sept 23, 1978 clearing Sturgeon Bay WI light for Escanaba MI

Upbound Sept 16, 1990 in the Saginaw River, passing MV Jupiter unloading gasoline at the Total Petroleum dock at Bay City MI pulled Jupiter from dock, breaking her unloading hose and power line.  Resulting explosion destroyed Jupiter.  Trapped for six weeks in the river above the site of the accident before she could return back down the river.
