Entered service June 1959

Laid up Dec 24, 1985 at Toledo OH and did not operate again for this fleet

Sold 1988 to Keybulk Transport Inc., Montreal QC for off-Lakes service and left the Great Lakes.

Converted to self-unloading barge with notched stern for pushing by tug at Halifax NS by Halifax Dartmouth Industries and renamed Capt. Edward V. Smith.

Renamed Sea Barge One 1991

Sold 1993 to Halifax Grain Elevator Ltd., Halifax NS

Transferred 1995 to Great Lakes Transport Ltd., a division of Halifax Grain Elevator, and returned to Great Lakes service.

Renamed Sarah Spencer 1996

  1. I was on this ship from june till layup in december 1966. We were iut when the dj morrell went down but not suee where we were in relationship to the morrell.

    Anybody know?
