Laid down as Oddfellow.  Name changed before launch.
Launched

1 deck, coal-fired boilers, side lever engine,
Engine reportedly from str. Boston, built at Detroit MI in 1845 and wrecked at Milwaukee WI in 1846

Enrolled at Detroit MI June 21, 1848 (#29)
251 x 34’10” x 14’6”, 1223 26/95 tons     to:
Samuel Robinson, Detroit MI (home port Detroit MI)

Entered service 1848, operating between Buffalo NY and Chicago IL

Abraham Lincoln was a passenger in 1848

Sold 1850 to Joshua Maxwell, Buffalo NY (home port to Buffalo NY)

Converted 1856 to propeller vessel at Buffalo NY by C. A. Van Slyke
(No change in dimensions or tonnages)

Damaged Nov 8, 1860 when boiler exploded while unloading at dock on Chicago River, Chicago IL.  Sixteen lives lost.  Converted to undocumented barge.

Lost 1873 on Lake Erie.
