Spruce hatch covers installed because of the possibility that the telescoping steel hatch covers aboard str. James Carruthers had caused her foundering in the “Big Storm” of Nov 1913

536.0 x 58.3 x 27.3, 7462 GT, 5704 NT     Can 134250     to:
St. Lawrence & Chicago Steam Navigation Co., Toronto ON (home port Toronto ON)

Entered service July 28, 1914 clearing Collingwood ON light for Detroit MI (where she entered the Ecorse MI drydock of Great Lakes Engineering Works for repairs of damage caused during her launching)

Fleet sold July 27, 1916 to Canada Steamship Lines, Montreal QC

Renamed Hagarty 1926

Sold for scrap 1968 to Steel Factors Ltd.  Resold to Spanish shipbreakers.  Arrived at Santander Spain Oct 28, 1968 with str. Collingwood towed by Polish tug Jantar.
