Sunk Nov 23, 1866 in collision with str. Milwaukee in the St. Clair River. Downbound with cargo of iron ore in barrels and other package freight. 2 lost. Raised, repaired and converted to bulk freighter.
Foundered Oct 14, 1872 20 miles off Racine WI, Lake Michigan. Nine lives lost.

After using and appreciating your site numerous times, for once I have something to offer. The Lac La Belle, according to the Lytle-Holdcamper List, was ON 15803. I searched on her because of a news item in which her wreck was identified this year. For anyone who isn’t aware, the Lytle-Holdcamper List is an effort at compiling a list of U. S. vessels prior to the first issuing of Merchant Vessels of the United States.
