Built in two sections.  Stern section launched Oct 15, 1960;  bow section launched April 29, 1961.  Sections joined June 20, 1961 and vessel christened.

1 deck, arch cargo hold construction, hatches @ 24’, oil-fired boilers, steam turbine engine, 9000 SHP

Entered service June 1961.  First cargo iron ore from Sept Iles QC up Welland Canal June 26, 1961 to Cleveland OH.

Fleet renamed Misener Transportation Ltd. late 1978

Renamed Scott Misener  (4) 1991

Management transferred 1991 to Great Lakes Bulk Carriers, Winnipeg MB, a vessel operation and management joint venture of Canada Steamship Lines, Misener Shipping and Pioneer Shipping to operate their straight deck vessels, David K. Gardiner (COO of Misener), Mgr.

Great Lakes Bulk Carriers discontinued 1994 and vessel sold to Algoma Central Marine, Sault Ste. Marie ON and renamed Algogulf  (2).  Management transferred to Seaway Bulk Carriers, St. Catharines ON, a vessel operation and management joint venture of Algoma Central Railway and ULS Corporation to operate their straight deck vessels, ULS Corporation, Mgr.

Laid up Dec 29, 1999 at Hamilton ON and did not operate again

Self-unloader and straight deck management organizations of these firms merged 2000 into a single firm, Seaway Marine Transport, St. Catharines ON

Sold for scrap 2002 to International Marine Salvage, Port Colborne ON and scrapped at Port Colborne
