226.3 x 34.1 x 11.2, 1072.22 tons (949.76 NT 1882)     US 90524     to:
Eber Ward, Detroit MI (home port Detroit MI)

Sold late 1873 to Engelman Transportation Co., Milwaukee WI (“Ward’s Lake Superior Line”) (home port to Milwaukee WI)

Replaced str. Ironsides of the fleet, which was lost in Sept 1873

Operated across Lake Michigan between Grand Haven MI and Milwaukee WI

Sold 1875 to Northwestern Transportation Co., Detroit MI (home port to Detroit MI)

Passenger cabins removed 1884 and converted to bulk freighter (no changes in dimensions or tons)

Engine steeple compounded 1887

Sold 1888 to A. A. Parker et al., Detroit MI

Transferred 1890 to Parker Transportation Co., Detroit MI (home port to Hamtramck MI)

Foundered April 4, 1894 off McGulpin’s Point, Straits of Mackinac.  Towing schooner barges Red Wing and San Diego and carrying cargo of coal, cut by ice and sank.  Crew rescued by schooner San Diego.  Neither schooner damaged.  Enrollment surrendered June 11, 1894.
