Home port to Muskegon MI 1944

Fleet merged 1947 into Chesapeake & Ohio Railway Co.

Lengthened and repowered with Skinner Unaflow engines 1954 at Manitowoc WI by Manitowoc Shipbuilding Co.
Remeasured to 387.9 length and 3558 GT, 1935 NT

Laid up during 1972 season and did not operate again for this fleet

Sold 1973 to Construction Aggregates Corporation, Chicago IL

Transferred 1973 to off-Lakes service for a Construction Aggregates subsidiary and left the Great Lakes.  Towed Nov 1973 to Sorel QC, where she was converted to a barge.  Cleared Quebec QC June 18, 1974 under for her new duties.

  1. I am in the process of scanning my paternal Grandmother’s photo albums and across one from 1969 in which the Pere Marquette 22 is at dock on the Kewanee. Would you be interested in having a copy?
