Sank str. Smith Moore July 13, 1889 in collision off Grand Island, Lake Superior.

Wrecked Sept 22, 1894 on Sawtooth Reef off Eagle River, Lake Superior.  Enroute from Duluth MN to South Chicago IL with cargo of iron ore, lost bearings in the haze of forest fires ashore.  No lives lost.  Enrollment surrendered April 27, 1895.
