Grounded Dec 6, 1966 above Sault Ste. Marie MI, St. Mary’s River, suffering extensive bottom damage.  Abandoned to the underwriters as a constructive total loss.

Sold 1967 to Bulk Food Carriers Inc. for trade in to U. S. Maritime Commission on vessels in the reserve fleet.  Scrapped at Duluth MN.

  1. My Grandfather, Morris West served as a Fireman on this boat. His ship was on the water when a storm took a number of boats. The Captain saved the ship, by placing it behind a island. It was a tough life on the boats.

  2. My Grandfather Morris West was a Firemen on this boat in 1900’s. He said his Captain had hide their boat behind a island and they turned around to find a number of boat gone (sunk in a bad storm). His said work was hard and sometimes dangerous. Life was tough.
